Walks
Transpentland offers a programme of guided walking trips from the south side of Edinburgh led by Mountain Leader Peter Woolverton.
All walks are between 4-10 miles and alternate between relatively easy routes with a few hundred feet of ascent and harder routes on higher, and/or rougher ground.
Minibus transport leaves the top of Biggar Road, Fairmilehead, Edinburgh at 9.30a.m. (occasionally 8.30a.m.). A pickup can be made at Cammo for trips north, and at Newcriaghall Park and RIde on trips east via the A1. Return times will vary. Ask for an estimate!
Walks cost between £10 and £25, depending on minibus distance travelled.
Stops are made for morning tea/coffee where feasible.
A packed lunch is required.
Some longer trips will include a meal (not included in the price) before the return journey.
Boots, waterproof clothing, daysac, hat and gloves are strongly advised.
Sorry, no dogs.
Programmes posted on request.
